Building Business Point
The Business Point Building, located in a noble area of the Federal District, in the Southern Municipalities Sector, near the Cathedral, was a partnership between Almeida França and Construtora Líder. Created and designed by the company on its property, it adopted intelligent building principles as early as 1998, perhaps one of the first to be realized in Brasília. A bold project and cutting-edge technologies aimed, among others, the efficient consumption of electrical energy. The project, prioritizing the spatial orientation, adopted reflective marble and special glasses in the façades, optimized the natural light, specified air conditioning system for cold water with central control and applied special luminaries, and as a result, received the 1998 Procel Award, in the Buildings Category, granted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
The greatest relevance of the Award is that it translates into real savings in operating costs of companies or offices installed there, in addition to being an important initiative for the preservation of natural resources and the environment. The consumption of electricity at the Business Point is 50% of a similar conventional building of the time, and it is still today a reference for comparative analysis. The company keeps a fraction of the building among its assets and rents them to renowned companies and professionals, international NGOs, among others.
Business Point is one of the commercial buildings that has the highest occupancy rate and the lowest turnover in the local commercial market. The company is an active member of the building's board of directors.
